Western Park Festival is a celebration of local music in Leicester. It takes place each summer in the city’s Western Park.
But the music starts much earlier than this with auditions taking place in the winter. It is an open call festival so local bands and acoustic solo artists can put themselves forward for an audition.
If selected they will be part of this amazing, local showcase of Leicestershire musical talent. It is a green festival with a plate hire scheme and green biking zone.
Locals are encouraged to walk or cycle to this music Mecca. Once there, as well as the three music stages, punters can spend time at some of the many stalls.
From charity fundraising stalls to baking treats, local information stalls to craft making, horticulture or jewellery – there is something for everyone here. And big thanks to the local sponsors who allow this amazing festival to be free admission.
